Carbon Block Cartridge

Comments

Made from a solid extruded block of carbon which is simply cut to size and housed in a plastic tank. For those who want the best available carbon cartridge for the bench-top or under-bench unit. Removes/reduces giardia and cryptosporidium (0.5 micron only), chlorine, chemicals, pesticides, insecticides, asbestos, rust, sediment, taste and odour.

Modified Carbon Cartridge

Comments

Basically this cartridge is made from carbon being poured into a mould and compressed. Ideal for those who are concerned about their lower water pressure. These cartridges remove/reduce giardia and cryptosporidium (0.5 micron only), chlorine, chemicals, pesticides, insecticides, asbestos, rust, sediment, taste and odour and also come with silver impregnation for bacteria control (Bacteriostatic). Suggested for bench-tops and under-bench units both standard and/or if your cartridge has a lug on the end with two o-rings.

G.A.C Cartridges

Comments

This cartridge is simply a casing filled with loose carbon granules with a fibre cap to hold the media in place. It is designed as a bottom entry only cartridge. It is used when the water pressure is low and sediment is low as in some gravity feed applications. Removes/reduces chlorine, chemicals, pesticides, insecticides, asbestos, rust, sediment, taste and odour.

String Wound Cartridges

Comments

Described as “polypropylene roving string” it is basically a poly string wound around a central core which is then bonded together. Used purely for sediment removal, giving high flow rates.

Polyspun Cartridges

Comments

This cartridge is made from “thermally bonded micro-fibres”. It is small lengths of fibre compressed into a low density sponge-like block. Used as a pre-filter for multi-stage units but generally not in single units as it will not remove taste and odour. This is a depth cartridge meaning that it is not saturated until the colour can be seen on the inside fibres.

Polyester Pleated Cartridges

A pleated polyester cloth cartridge. As the name denotes they can be washed a maximum of four times and re-used. Also known as a surface filter meaning that once the outside surface of the fabric is soiled it needs to be cleaned. This cartridge is ideally used as a pre-filter (1st stage) in a 3-4 stage system particularly whole house or larger flow systems.

Deionising (DI)

Comments

Contains a mixture of Cation and Anion Resins for the lowering of Total Dissolved salts (TDS). Typically used in laboratories or used to fill autoclaves.

KDF/GAC

Comments

Inline cartridges are fully disposable and ideally used for ice-makers, refrigerators and chillers or where space is a premium. Designed as a broad spectrum cartridge and removes/reduces heavy metals, lead and aluminium, chlorine, taste and odour and organics.

Phosphate

Comments

Contains a slow dissolving, crystalline, food-grade phosphate especially formulated to control corrosion, lime/scale accumulation and iron oxide precipitation in commercial and institutional service water systems. It dissolves in water at a rate of between 11-14% per month at 20 degrees celsius. This cartridge must always be installed in the cold water line. Available in conjunction as a GAC/Phosphate which is a Granular Activated Carbon cartridge impregnated with hexametaphosphate designed to remove chlorine, pesticides, taste & odour and prevent lime/scaling. Also available with a Twist-Tap in-head valve system for quick replacement.

Cation

Comments

Contains a bed of Softening resin which is used to soften water where there is high levels of hardness, used in commercial applications to protect expensive equipment from scale build up.
